What the paper means?
To help you make your selection, we have, where possible, included a series of
icons to help you to identify speci昀椀c criteria for each paper.

Totally Chlorine Free - The raw material is
bleached without the use of any chlorine
compound.

Process Accreditation - This signi昀椀es that the mills
operations comply with ISO standard of quality.
Elemental Chlorine Free - The raw material is
bleached using a chlorine compound, not raw
chlorine. This is the most common method; it is
proven to be very safe and clean.

Environmental Accreditation - This signi昀椀es that the
mills products and operations meet or exceed this
ISO environmental standard.
FSC Labelled Products - The Forest Stewardship
Council (FSC) is an international, non- Governmental
organization dedicated to promoting responsible
management of the world’s forests. It operates a
system of forest certi昀椀cation and product labelling
that allows consumers to identify wood and wood
based products from well-managed forests.
Long Life - Papers made to this standard meet the
archival 200 year requirement.
CIE Whiteness - The 昀椀gure shown gives a
recognised measurement of the paper’s whiteness.
The higher the 昀椀gure, the whiter the paper.

Recycled - This product has been made using
reclaimed 昀椀bre the percentage shown indicates the
proportion of reclaimed 昀椀bre the sheets contain.
Opacity - this is a laboratory measurement that
gives an indication of how much show-through
there is. The higher the %, the less show-through.

Thickness (microns) - Also known as callper,
this gives us the average thickness of a sheet.
Historically, an 80gsm sheet was 100 micros thick.
However, due to manufacturing developments
some 80gsm sheets are now up to 110 microns
thick.

Colorlok TM - is a new technology developed by inkjet
leading machine manufacturers and paper makers
for use on Inkjet and laser copiers. Papers made
to this standard will produce a darker text, more

vibrant colours and faster drying times on Inkjet
printers.
Suitable for duplex copying.
Sustainable Forest Source - These products are
made from managed forest resources with ongoing
replanting programmes.
Plantation Source - These products are made from
昀椀bre sourced farmed tree plantations. A typical
cycle from seeding to harvest is seven years.
